A THOMASIAN placed fifth in the March 2021 licensure examinations for medical technologists, where a total of 42 Thomasians passed.
Francis Jacob Carpio led the newest batch of Thomasian medical technologists with a 87.50-percent score.
Felix Jayson Vegella of Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation in San Carlos City, Pangasinan emerged as this year’s topnotcher, after posting a score of 91 percent.
Saint Louis University in Baguio was the top-performing school anew with a 98.01-percent passing rate, or 246 out of 251 examinees making the cut.
UST failed to secure a spot among top-performing schools in the March 2021 examinations as its passing rate was lower than 80 percent. In the January 2021 examinations, the University became a top-performing school after getting a perfect passing rate.
The national passing rate slid to 59.09 percent, or 1,921 out of 3,251 examinees—lower than the previous national passing rate of 67.69 percent, or 1,919 out of 2,835 examinees.
The licensure examinations were conducted in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
