THE UNIVERSITY kept a perfect passing rate in the March 2022 licensure examination for teachers (LET) at the elementary level, in which it fielded four examinees.
The examinee count was a decrease from the January 2022 examination’s 13 examinees.
Maricris Colipano of Cebu Technological University – Carmen topped the examination for elementary-level teachers, scoring 92.40 percent.
In the LET for secondary-level teachers, 18 of UST’s 20 examinees passed the examinations, or a 90-percent passing rate for the University, with two Thomasians landing in the top 10.
Thomasian Ma. Gliceria Mapanao placed third nationwide with a score of 92.20 percent, while Therrese Santos ranked seventh with a 90.80-percent mark.
Kim Ravida of the University of the Southeastern Philippines – Davao City led the country’s newest batch of secondary-level teachers with a score of 93.60 percent.
The Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Main was named the top-performing school, with an 81.25-percent passing rate or 65 out of 80 examinees.
The national passing rate for elementary teachers decreased to 48.81 percent (10,039 of 20,567 examinees) from 55.66 percent (8,737 of 15,696 examinees) last January.
The national passing rate for secondary teachers dipped to 41.72 percent, or 7,809 of 18,717 examinees, from 53.77 percent, or 12,074 of 22,454 examinees.
