Over 700 healthcare workers from UST Hospital (USTH) have been inoculated with their first doses of Covid-19 vaccines, an official said.
The number was almost half of the 1,547 USTH workers who had registered for the vaccination, said Dr. John Hubert Pua, head of the UST Covid-19 Vaccine Logistics Task Force.
On March 7, USTH kicked off its 75th-anniversary celebrations with a ceremonial vaccination of administrators at the UST Medicine Auditorium, after the hospital got 600 doses of Sinovac vaccines and 1,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines from the Department of Health.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III inspected the hospital’s facilities and led a ceremonial vaccination on March 11.
Duque inoculated Fr. Filemon de la Cruz, Jr., O.P., the new prior provincial of the Filipino Dominicans, and Dr. Donna San Antonio, a plastic surgery resident of USTH, with Sinovac vaccines.
During the ceremony, Duque named the healthcare workers as “great influencers” for Covid-19 vaccines.
The vaccination program will run until March 15, 10 p.m.
