THE UNIVERSITY posted a 47.17-percent passing rate in the May 2022 licensure examinations for chemical engineers, slightly lower than the national average of 56.69 percent.
Twenty-five out of 53 Thomasians passed the exam, an increase from UST’s October 2021 passing rate of 45.95-percent, or 17 out of 37 examinees.
Richmond Pepito of the University of San Carlos topped this year’s examination with 86.90 percent.
The University of San Carlos and the University of the Philippines – Diliman were named top-performing schools with 100-percent passing rates.
The national passing rate rose to 56.69 percent, or 585 out of 1,032 examinees, from last year’s 47.28 percent, or 321 out of 679 examinees.
The examinations were conducted from May 17 to 19.
