UST parish suspends public Masses indefinitely due to Metro Manila’s tighter lockdown

THE SANTISIMO Rosario Parish has announced the indefinite suspension of all public Masses and other religious activities, following Metro Manila’s placement under stricter lockdown measures.

Metro Manila will be under general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened and additional restrictions from July 30 to Aug. 5, and enhanced community quarantine from Aug. 6 to Aug. 20.

In both quarantine categories, physical religious gatherings are not allowed.

“Following the new guidelines given by the IATF, please be advised that we will temporarily cancel the public celebration of the Holy Mass in our Parish beginning tomorrow July 31, 2021,” the parish said in an advisory.

“All Masses will be celebrated virtually with our Parish closed until further notice,” it added.

From Monday to Saturday, online Masses are held at 6:15 and 7:30 in the morning and 4:00 and 5:00 in the afternoon.

Sunday Masses are held at 7:30 and 9:00 in the morning and 4:00 and 5:30 in the afternoon.

The tighter Metro Manila lockdown was imposed to prevent the spread of the Delta Covid-19 variant.

Several dioceses in Metro Manila such as Pasig, Cubao, and Parañaque have also suspended Masses and religious gatherings.
